GBCNN - UPDATE 2 - Spoken for: Two Registratons for Netroots Nation
Sat Jun 21, 2008 at 08:16:52 PM PDT
It is with great disappointment that I post this diary. I attended Yearly Kos both times, and I was so looking forward to the very first Netroots Nation. My daughter and I were in Vegas in '06, and last year we convinced my husband to join us in Chicago. Both times it was an experience we will never forget, and I encourage anyone who hasn't had the chance to go to do it, at least once. Of course we registered again this year, but due to circumstances beyond our control we will not be able to make it. I'm hoping someone here would be interested in purchasing my registrations.

My Pledge to Keith or Knocking Out My Christmas List Early
Mon Sep 11, 2006 at 08:11:56 PM PDT
Dear Keith:
Tonight's "Special Comment" knocked my socks off. Finally, finally, someone with a soapbox is telling the truth about this administration and doing so unapologetically, with a sincerity and eloquence that brings me to grateful tears. You truly are a voice in the wilderness, but one that speaks for many, and is, I believe, being heard at last.
MI CD 9 - Pop in and say HI to Nancy Skinner
Fri Jun 30, 2006 at 06:50:24 PM PDT
I just dropped by my favorite local candidate's website, and I was happy to see Nancy announce that she has made the cut in Governor Warner's "Mapchangers" contest by placing 4th. This is good news for Nancy and good news for Michigan. She is contesting for a seat in one of the most winnable districts in the country. And Joe Knollenberg really needs to go! She is a top notch Democrat and all around wonderful person, as many of you know from meeting her at Yearly Kos, or from listening to her when she was on radio.
My Response from Bill Keller--With Poll
Wed Dec 21, 2005 at 07:39:24 AM PDT
As I assume many of you did also, I sent a scathing (but polite) email to most of the editors and departments of the New York Times. I am outraged that they withheld the warrantless surveillence story for a year, and told them so. I was somewhat surprised the next day to receive a reply from Bill Keller giving his explanation for the
Times' handling of the matter. It may be a form letter, or even printed in the paper for all I know. (Haven't checked--I've sworn off them for now.) But I thought I'd share the letter here for consideration and comment. Please let me know if this has already been covered here and if so I'll be happy to delete.

This Was Not the Fight I Wanted...
Fri Dec 03, 2004 at 02:42:38 PM PDT
This is my very first diary entry here, and more than anything else it is an attempt to sort out some of my feelings since the election. Like many of you, I am going through the stages of grief after such a disappointing blow. Currently I am somewhere between rage and acceptance. I (we) worked so hard, and the taste of victory was on my tongue. I cried for two days after November 2nd, out of disappointment, disbelief, and pure exhaustion.
